3 Locate and tap 'API keys,' or alternatively look for a label like 'account security options.' Click on this option.

4 Tap on 'Telegram application code.' If you do encounter different terms, look for options like, 'Telegram available apps,' or a label that says 'Show all chats and other settings.'

5 Find the section labeled Telegram application code, which includes a 'Telegram name editor.' Tap this to start the renaming process. This may be labeled 'Telegram ID name.'

6 Tap 'renew telegram name' to restore or rename telegram name.

7 After selecting 'Recover,' a new message from the 'Support Bot' that Telegram assigns you, appears. This will ask if you are ready to start renaming procedure. Click yes once ready.

8 Select and confirm a new, available name suggestion from telegram, which should contain only letters and numbers. Please note that this will change your visible name display across all instant messaging apps.

9 Tap 'Confirm' to finalize the username renaming process.

10 To test if your username update worked, check your new username and verify the app displays your account using the new name.
